When we are young, we feel like the world is our oyster and we have all the time in the world to explore it. The strange thing about getting older is our bodies age but we often do not feel any older. This combined with the fact that we rarely allow ourselves time to reflect on life because we are simply too busy living means that suddenly we wake up one day and wonder where all the time has gone and how come we never did all those things we meant to.

absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to
performing daily acts of trivia.”

Tip On a
journey you must know where you are before you can decide how to
reach your destination. The same is true in life, so why not take
stock of your life and reflect. A good way to reflect is simply to
start writing your thoughts in a journal as this taps into your
unconscious mind. Ultimately this connection helps you identify what
is important in your life. This is an essential foundation for
choosing your goals.
Goals are about doing the things we want to do. Traditionally, most people set goals on the 1st January; they call them New Year’s resolutions. However most New Year’s resolutions are not about achieving dreams but about giving things up and hence we are not very motivated to keep them. How many of last year’s New Year’s resolutions have you managed to achieve in 2008?

are the fuel in the furnace of achievement."
